Strengthening Support Through Connection

At Spark Learning, we believe meaningful progress happens through strong connections. Connections between children and their therapy teams. Connections between families who share similar journeys. Connections to tools, ideas, and community resources that support growth beyond a child’s therapy schedule.

That belief is what inspired Ignite Connections, a series of short, purposeful gatherings that take place during your child’s therapy session, designed to bring our Spark families together in meaningful ways.

What is Ignite Connections?

Ignite Connections is a series of thoughtfully planned events that focus on building relationships and strengthening collaboration. Each event spotlights a different kind of connection, with your child’s therapy team, with other Spark families, and community resources, so you leave with relationships, ideas, and practical next steps.

Our goal is simple. We want every family to leave feeling informed, empowered, and supported with practical next steps they can carry into everyday life.

Who should join?

All Spark families are invited and encouraged to participate. These events are designed to be accessible, welcoming, and valuable for families at every stage of their Spark journey.

What to expect

Please plan to arrive at Spark 15 minutes before the end of your child’s scheduled session, during the portion of your child’s session that is typically reserved for Parent Review. Our office team will check you in and guide you to your child’s therapy space so the transition is smooth and stress free.

During this time, you will join your child in their therapy session. Your child’s therapist will demonstrate the goals, skills, and strategies your child has been actively working on, highlighting activities and approaches that tie into this month’s theme. You will have the opportunity to participate alongside your child, ask questions, and see these strategies in action, gaining insight into how the theme supports your child’s growth both in therapy and at home.

Families will explore practical steps through our four key areas:

  • Stop and Think!
A time for reflection and observation. Families discuss how this month’s theme is showing up in their child’s day-to-day activities and learning. They consider what skills, behaviors, or strategies align with the theme, and reflect on ways to notice and support these moments at home. This step helps parents identify opportunities to create consistency and strengthen their child’s growth around the theme.
  • Let’s Practice!
Here, families put ideas into action in a small, manageable way. They select one activity to try, provide prompts if needed, and celebrate success with a reinforcer. Practicing in a low-pressure setting allows parents to see firsthand how their child responds, building confidence in using these strategies effectively.
  • Time to Apply!
The focus shifts to everyday life. Families choose one daily activity—like brushing teeth, cleaning up toys, or getting dressed—and apply their child’s current goals and the focus of the day. This step encourages parents to integrate therapy strategies into routines, making learning seamless and natural in the home environment.
  • Talk and Review!
Reflection continues with discussion and sharing. Families think about what worked well, what could be improved, and capture one example to bring back to the next session. This fosters a collaborative environment where parents, children, and therapists learn from each other’s experiences and celebrate progress together.

We can’t wait to connect!

Ignite Connections is about more than just attending an event. It is about building relationships, sharing knowledge, and working together to support your child’s growth. We look forward to connecting with you!
