Community

Deep in the heart of Texas

At Spark, giving back to the local Austin autism community is at the heart of everything we do. Austin is more than our home, it’s part of who we are. We are proud to serve and uplift the local autism community by creating spaces where individuals and families feel truly seen, supported, and celebrated. Austin’s spirit of creativity and connection inspires us every day to build meaningful relationships and make a lasting difference.

Community Involvement at Spark

Through ongoing outreach, inclusive programs, and meaningful partnerships, we work every day to build connections, foster understanding, and make a lasting impact in the lives of those we serve. Whether it’s supporting local initiatives, hosting our own events, or championing inclusive recreation, we’re here to make a genuine impact.

We regularly partner with schools, local businesses, and other service providers to offer engaging, evidence‑based trainings that help organizations better understand and support individuals on the autism spectrum. The goal is to provide teams with practical strategies to build more inclusive and supportive environments.

Our team actively partners with local events to ensure they are accessible and welcoming for families touched by autism. By offering resources and on‑site support, we help create experiences where everyone feels included.

The Kindness Crew is a Spark initiative dedicated to spreading kindness throughout our community while strengthening connections within our team. Together, we roll up our sleeves to make a difference—whether it’s through monthly park clean‑ups, supporting local food banks, lending a hand in disaster recovery efforts, or partnering with organizations like Pop‑Up Birthday to bring joy to children in need. The Kindness Crew reflects our belief that small acts of service add up to a big impact, creating ripples of kindness that reach far beyond Spark.

Putt Fore Autism is Spark Learning’s signature autism acceptance and fundraising event, held annually at the iconic Peter Pan Mini‑Golf. This family‑friendly event blends fun and purpose, inviting players of all ages and abilities to come together for an afternoon of connection and community. Over the past decade, Putt Fore Autism has become a beloved tradition, raising more than $101,275.18 to support local autism organizations like the Autism Society of Texas. Each year’s event is filled with laughter, friendly competition, and shared celebration, embodying Spark Learning’s commitment to giving back and making a lasting impact on the autism community.

Our Special Olympics team, the Spark Learning Super Sparks, has proudly partnered with Special Olympics for more than a decade. Through Future Stars Day, our youngest “Athletes in Training” get to experience the joy of participation, while our soccer team offers older children and teens the chance to learn soccer skills, teamwork, and friendship. Together, these programs create opportunities to develop skills, build confidence, and form lasting friendships in a fun, inclusive environment.

Our Family Retreat, Camp Beyond the Spectrum, is a welcoming getaway held at Camp For All, a nationally recognized, barrier-free camp dedicated to empowering individuals with special needs. This retreat offers families a unique opportunity to relax, have fun, and share meaningful experiences in a fully accessible environment designed to foster inclusion, independence, and joy. At Camp For All, participants of all ages discover new abilities and achieve important milestones through innovative programming and the support of passionate, professional staff. Together, Camp Beyond the Spectrum and Camp For All create a nurturing space where families build lasting friendships and making treasured memories.
