An Inclusive Approach
Little Sparks is a fully licensed, inclusive early childhood education program. We are proud to be accredited through the Texas Rising Star program at the 4-star level, the highest quality rating awarded. With low ratios and a personalized curriculum, we’re able to meet the needs of children at any stage of development.
At Spark Learning, we champion and embrace inclusion and diversity. Our program is designed to honor the learning process of each individual child and support their education through an organic, natural and play-based approach.
Our charming schoolhouse offers a comfortable environment to learn in — with plenty of space to move around and be a kid. And with our Central Austin location, there’s an abundance of valuable learning opportunities in our own backyard. We work tirelessly to provide rich experiences for our students, and find creative ways to engage with the community around us.
Our Little Sparks educational model seamlessly incorporates individualized therapy into the classroom setting. Our play-based, natural approach to therapy is fully compatible with The Frog Street Curriculum, so your child will receive intervention in a meaningful way within a variety of settings and age-appropriate developmental activities.
In order to blend early-childhood education with intervention, ABA and Speech Therapy are provided individually — built into your child’s day in the classroom. As with every Spark Learning child, an individualized treatment plan is developed and overseen by a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst. Your child’s BCBA will provide daily support as well. To ensure high-quality care, all therapy is provided by behavior therapists and speech therapists.
We also include training for parents and guardians in our programming for additional support. When necessary, in-home therapy may also be provided and built into your child’s weekly schedule.
With extensive experience and education in child development, early childhood education, and related fields, you can rest assured that your child is in the most capable and loving hands in the Little Sparks program.
Each of our classrooms also benefit from the presence of highly trained therapists, who facilitate inclusion and ensure each child is able to reach their learning goals.
Here at Spark, we love our educators. Every member of our care team embodies a special blend of high qualifications, passion for learning, and a nurturing spirit.
Within our Little Sparks program, we’re proud to offer a whole-child approach to education. To bring our vision to life, we’ve fully adopted and implemented the Frog Street Curriculum. We chose this program for its comprehensive, evidence-based foundation, featuring exploration, discovery, and play as a way of learning. Our methodology harnesses the wonder of childhood as a tool to develop confidence, creativity, and lifelong critical thinking skills.
Little Sparks also offers Social Thinking, Handwriting Without Tears, and a variety of language development assessments to better customize our approach to your child’s educational journey.
To bring more educational value to our families, we’re excited to offer weekly enrichment activities. Physical education, community visitors, and field trips are all a part of our regular offerings.
As a year-round program, we provide unique and meaningful seasonal programs designed to enhance learning, including an annual holiday show, family celebrations, and weekly on-site field trips during the summer.
At Spark Learning, we deeply value parent and caregiver involvement, and know teamwork is key to your child’s learning success. To help facilitate family participation, Little Sparks has an open-door policy — we invite you to visit your child at school anytime you are able.
Some of our favorite ways for families to get involved in the classroom include attending class parties and field trips, stopping by for story time, or joining us for hands-on lessons like cooking and art.
Parents and guardians also have a formal opportunity to sit down and discuss their child’s progress with their teacher at least once every six months. In addition, we’re happy to schedule meetings by request at any time and are always here to support our families.
For regular communication, we utilize classroom management software to share information about your child’s day. You’ll receive:
- Daily reports with information about learning and play activities as well as bathroom, meal, and rest times
- Notes about any supplies or materials your child may need
- Updates on progress made toward learning goals
- Photos and videos in real time
Our Peer Model Program provides a unique opportunity for children with strong social, language, and behavioral skills to learn and play alongside peers of all abilities in our inclusive child development classrooms. Research shows that children without disabilities benefit from inclusive environments by developing greater empathy, leadership skills, and social competence (Odom et al., 2011; Staub & Peck, 1995). By interacting with diverse peers, children gain valuable experiences in cooperation, problem-solving, and perspective-taking—skills that support success in school and beyond.
At our center, all children thrive in an enriching, developmentally appropriate setting with small group sizes, ensuring high-quality attention and meaningful learning experiences throughout the day.
