Little Sparks

Inclusive Child Development Program

As a licensed, low ratio preschool program we provide children the structure, care, and attention needed to learn and thrive.

Our mission is to celebrate each child’s individual differences and support their development through natural teaching opportunities. We individualize our instruction to meet the needs of your child, wherever they are in their learning.

Key Program Components

Our Teachers and Ratios

All Little Spark's teachers have a minimum of a bachelor's degree in education or a related field, and many of our teachers hold a master's degree.

Our employment policy helps us maintain high-quality services and low team member turnover. This approach develops strong relationships with each child and their family.

In order to provide individualized learning for all children, we ensure a staff to student ratio of 1:4.

Schedule and Tuition

Little Sparks full time schedule is Monday-Friday 8:30-2:30, year round, with after-care also available.

Daily rest time occurs from 12:00 pm-1:30 pm.

Little Sparks

We offer children a structured day with a thoughtful balance of child selected activities and adult directed activities. All learning is play based and is driven by the interests of the children. Daily activities include play centers, gross motor activities, outdoor play, and story time.

Each lesson is carried out through activities that focus on developing the whole child. Major areas of focus include: social skills, play skills, language and communication, motor skills, and pre-academics (as it becomes ages appropriate).

As your child develops we begin emphasizing pre-academic skills at a pace that is appropriate for the child.

Children learn from a variety of thoughtfully selected materials including: social skills programs, language development programs, and the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS). Some of the programs that drive our instruction include Incredible Flexible You, Handwriting Without Tears, and The Early Start Denver Model.

Special Activities

We provide your child with weekly special classes at no cost to you including music, yoga, and Sportball.

We also take field trips to enrich the learning that takes place in the classroom. Some of the field trips we’ve been on recently include the public library, Austin Nature and Science Center, and the Austin Zoo.

Parent and Guardian Involvement

In Little Sparks, we have an open door policy. You are welcomed and encouraged to visit your child at school. Some ways for parents and guardians to be involved in the classroom include attending class parties, story time, field trips, and cooking/art lessons.

You will have the opportunity at least every 6 months to sit down with your child’s teacher to discuss progress. We are always here if you need us and are happy to schedule meetings by request at any time.

Enrollment Procedures

We have year round enrollment when space is available.

Give us a call today to schedule a tour and we will personally guide you through the next steps! We are proud of our program and space, and would love to show you around.
